LOBBYISTS TO CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS, so far in 2019
This chart shows organizations who have hired lobbyists for 2019-2020, registered lobbyists, the employers of those lobbyists (based on contribution reporting by candidates), and finally the office, candidate, and volume of contributions made so far in 2019.
The chart does not show contributions made on behalf of the organizations, but more so offers a mapping of the relationships to legislators that these organizations may have based on the contributions of the lobbyists they have hired. Contributions may very well be personal choices of the lobbyist with no connection to the organization that has hired them or their employer.
The dataset was produced from a merge of data from the Hawaii State Ethics Commission’s Lobbyist Registration Statements with Campaign Contributions Received By Hawaii State and County Candidates based on the Lobbyists name.
The following two charts are visualizations of lobbyist and organization data (via Hawaii State Ethics Commission’s Lobbyist Registration Statements) that show organizations and lobbyist registrations from 2012-2019.
